Alright, listen up, Gen Z and every generation coming after. I’m here to tell you something important because I believe you deserve the truth—unfiltered and straight. You’re growing up in a world saturated with social media noise, news distortion, and a society that tells you your feelings are the only things that matter. I’m here to tell you, as a Christian, that this is a trap.
The world isn’t here to protect your feelings; it’s here to sharpen you, challenge you, and test your character. Feelings are temporary, but truth? Truth stands the test of time. When Jesus walked this earth, He didn’t sugarcoat. He spoke truth even when it offended, even when it made people uncomfortable. And guess what? The truth didn’t change because of people’s feelings. The same applies to us today.
Social media is a tool. The news is a platform. But neither is the source of truth. Only God’s Word is. John 14:6 tells us, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Jesus wasn’t following the trends. He was the truth. And if you’re going to follow Him, you’re going to have to step out of the comfort of “likes” and “follows” and step into the boldness of truth.
The world will tell you to be soft, to be silent if it offends someone, to embrace lies because it’s easier than standing firm. Don’t fall for it. The Bible says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). Don’t be a puppet to the latest trends and lies that social media pushes. Test everything against Scripture, and be ready to stand alone if you have to. True strength isn’t about everyone agreeing with you; it’s about standing with God.
Being a Christian means we’re called to be different, to stand firm even when society pushes us to the side. Stop letting culture shape your faith. Let your faith shape the culture around you. Stand up, open your Bible, seek wisdom, and speak truth even when it’s hard. Because in the end, it’s not about what the world thinks of you. It’s about what God says of you.
